Privacy Policy

Monument Labs LLC ("Monument Labs," "we," "us") is a technology consultancy based in Richmond, Virginia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through monumentlabs.io, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Information you give us: When you submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email, company, project summary, and any link you choose to share. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email, and message.
  • Information collected automatically: When you visit the site or submit a form, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page you came from, the page you landed on, and campaign or ad click identifiers in the link that brought you here. We use a temporary session identifier to understand how visitors move through the site.
  • Information from tools we use: If you book a call through our scheduling tool, it shares your booking details with us, such as your name, email, meeting time, and answers to any booking questions.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to inquiries, schedule conversations, and provide our services
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To measure the effectiveness of our advertising
  • To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse
  • To send occasional updates about our services, which you can opt out of at any time
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and browser storage for a few purposes:

  • Site analytics: Our own analytics and privacy-friendly hosting analytics help us understand site traffic. A session identifier is kept only until you close the browser tab.
  • Advertising measurement: We use Google's advertising tag, which sets Google cookies, to measure whether our ads lead to inquiries. We may keep an ad click identifier in your browser for up to 90 days for the same purpose.
  • Preferences and site features: Remembering things like your light or dark theme setting or a game score on our blog, and keeping our own staff signed in. The site has no public accounts.

You can block or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. You can manage how Google personalizes ads at adssettings.google.com. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

4. AI Tools

We use AI tools, including third-party AI model providers, to help run our business, for example to summarize site activity and review inquiries. These providers process information on our behalf, and we use them under business terms that do not permit them to train their models on our data.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers: Companies that help us operate, such as providers for website hosting and analytics (for example, Vercel), databases and background processing (for example, Supabase and Inngest), email delivery (for example, Resend), scheduling (for example, Calendly), advertising measurement and web fonts (Google), and AI models. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, or when needed to protect our rights, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: If Monument Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including maintaining business records and meeting legal obligations. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information longer.

7. Security

We encrypt information in transit and limit access to the people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Your Rights

  • Access: Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Ask us to delete your information
  • Opt out: Stop receiving marketing messages from us

Residents of Virginia and some other states may have additional rights under their state's privacy laws where those laws apply. To make a request, email kyle@monumentlabs.io. We will respond within 45 days.

9. Client Project Data

Information we handle while working on a client engagement is governed by that client's agreement with us, not by this policy.

10. Children's Privacy

Our site is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the "Last Updated" date.
